About Brad
Brad is a Louisville, Kentucky native, growing up just a short distance from Churchill Downs. He started working in racing under Burk Kessinger, Jimmy Baker, and then moving up to assistant trainer under Dallas Stewart. Brad started his first horse in 2004 and in 2018 hit the 1,000 win mark. In 2020, he is approaching 1,500 wins and over 60 graded stakes victories.
2018 was a banner year for the Brad H. Cox barn as Monomoy Girl gave Brad his first G1 win and then she went on to win the Kentucky Oaks, Breeders' Cup Distaff, and Champion Three Year Old Filly. Covfefe, Arklow, and British Idiom all clenched G1 races in 2019 under the direction of Brad. Heavy fan favorite Covfefe had a dazzling performance in the Miss Preakness Stakes setting a track record. She went on to win the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and was crowned Champion Female Sprinter and Three Year Old Filly.
In 2020 Brad was named Outstanding Trainer, captured the Kentucky Oaks for the second time, and 4 Breeders' Cup wins.
Brad currently stables horses in Kentucky, Indiana, New York, and Louisiana.
